Bad Poetry

Those three tanker ships
On Chesapeake Bay
Tug at my heart.
Gasoline, salt, metal and steam –
Great booming bellies –
Do they remind me of home?
Of pitchy logs on trucks
Of cheap portside beer
Of seeing that maybe I’m the driftwood –
not the water
as I had previously thought.
